The main objective of this position is to provide the group with on-trend, on-brand, and environmentally friendly aesthetic and decorating services, procurement, and advice. The position requires a hands-on approach on all allocated projects/briefs from public areas to rooms and even high-profile events. It is essential that you have a great eye for décor, a natural ability to style, and can do so under tight timelines. This position is designated as a career development position and is geared towards young and talented professionals searching for that "big break."Main responsibilitiesImplementation and upkeep of interior design manuals and guidelinesSourcing of new suppliers, products, and maintaining good relationships with current suppliersEnsure the chairman has physical and administrative backup on interior and design briefs, projectsDetailed handovers on all briefsConceptualizing of mood boards and implementationTraffic handling of all projects as briefed by senior management to relevant partiesLiaise with suppliers to ensure that project deadlines are metVisit all properties (Camps Bay, Langebaan, Hermanus, and Knysna) and identify possible weak spots and make enhancement suggestionsEvaluate the sensory experiences of hotels and recommend and implement changes as required and briefedManage annual interior maintenance programsCreate and maintain an inspiring workspaceRequirementsBachelor's in interior design/related field (beneficial but not essential)Portfolio of interior/styling work (beneficial but not essential)Project management experienceHighly creative, imaginative, and artisticWe are looking for raw talent combined with a strong work ethic rather than an exhaustive list of experience at design firms.
