Crisis24 seeks an Intelligence Analyst to join the Incident Reporting team within the Global Intelligence Division. Based in Cape Town, this position reports to the Intelligence Manager for Incident Reporting as part of Crisis24's global watch mission. In this role, you will be tasked with providing timely, accurate, and relevant intelligence to Crisis24 customers in the form of brief tactical reports. You will also serve as an internal resource on developing incidents to Crisis24's other intelligence teams. You must be responsible, diligent, composed under pressure, and have demonstrated high quality written and verbal skills.
This position is designated as mission-critical, and the incumbent will be required to work 1 weekend day per week (and will receive 1 weekday off). The incumbent must also be available to work some holidays and adjusted hours, as necessary. The standard shift schedule for this position is approximately 9AM through 6PM SAST, 5 days per week. What You Will Work OnSupport the Crisis24 Incident Reporting division in monitoring real-time emerging threats in support of personnel safety and business continuity.React and respond to high-stress situations.Think critically and practically about complex situations involving multiple factors and sources of information in a time-critical environment.Follow standard operating procedures and workflows.Monitor social media and perform open source research and vetting.Work with GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and perform basic database management.Serve as a research resource in support of watch operations, and pass timely information about developing incidents to other departments in support of Crisis24's global watch mission.What You Will BringAny combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
Bachelor's degree in International Relations, International Security, or a related field preferred.0 to 3 years of work experience in a related field (e.g. data science, research, intelligence analysis) or experience in crisis management or analytical environments.General knowledge of basic office equipment.Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Experience with shift work is a plus.Excellent English writing and verbal skills, especially the ability to write in a clear and precise manner.Excellent time management and problem-solving skills; demonstrated ability to take initiative and multi-task under pressure.Ability to organize and prioritize work with little supervision.Intelligence gathering, research, and analysis experience preferred.Foreign language proficiency is a plus.Must have the ability to pass a pre-employment background check.Must have authorization to work in South Africa without restriction or sponsorship.Information SecurityProtect the data and systems of Crisis24 and its stakeholders by adhering to policies, reporting incidents and potential problems, completing regular training, and identifying opportunities for improvement.
