Job Purpose:
The Finance Manager will have experience in financial management, accounting, and the financial/insurance sector. The role involves overseeing financial activities like budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and risk management. It's a leadership position demanding both technical know-how and strong leadership abilities.

Responsibilities: Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and cash flow managementDevelop and implement financial policies and proceduresPrepare financial statements and reports in accordance with GAAP or IFRSAnalyse financial data and provide insights to management to support strategic decision-makingManage and mentor a team of finance professionalsIdentify, assess, and mitigate financial risksMaintain strong relationships with external auditors and regulatory bodiesStay up to date on industry trends and best practices in financial managementAdditional Desired Skills: Experience with budgeting and forecasting within the insurance industryKnowledge of risk management principles and practicesStrong understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to the financial and insurance industryExperience working in a fast-paced and dynamic environmentQualification and Experience: CA (SA) Qualified (Essential)Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, such as Accounting or FinanceCompletion of articles with a recognised professional accounting body (SAICA, SAIPA, or equivalent) is highly desirableMinimum of 8 years' experience in a financial management role, with at least 3 years of experience within the financial and insurance industry (Essential)Minimum of 5 years' experience in a managerial roleProven track record of success in financial planning, analysis, and reportingStrong understanding of financial accounting principles, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards)Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholdersExperience with financial modeling and forecastingProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and accounting software (e.g., SAP, Sage)Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a teamAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectivelyExcellent attention to detail and accuracySalary: (Depending on experience)
