Our department members include numerous award-winning Faculty with outstanding accomplishments and leading research within a field that requires critical thinkers who analyze, assess and problem solve.Your opportunity:Under the general supervision of the Associate Chair, Undergraduate Studies and the Department Manager, the incumbent is responsible for leading the instructional support team to provide administrative support for the teaching of large undergraduate first and second year mathematic courses.Your responsibilities will include:Implementing plans and process improvements for program activitiesResponding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriateAnalyzing service delivery and/or internal processes and recommending improvementsDetermining logistics for program activitiesDetermining work priorities based on knowledge of deadlinesCoordinating meeting schedules, agendas, materials, action and follow-up itemsWriting routine documents and correspondenceDirecting the activities of a small group of staff-appointed employees all performing a similar function, including responsibility for scheduling and/or workflowEssential Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experienceMinimum three years of recent and related experience providing administrative support for an academic program in a post-secondary environmentExperience providing support to University faculty, TAs, and staff in the coordination of large undergraduate courses, including TA scheduling and communications, creating and maintaining course websites, and maintaining recordsDemonstrated experience proofreading and formatting lecture notes, problem sets, tests and examsDemonstrated experience working with databases and surveys and generating reportsDemonstrated experience working with undergraduates and providing information to studentsExperience organizing and planning meetings/eventsExperience analyzing service delivery, planning workflow and timelines, and making process improvementsStrong knowledge of the operations and workflow of a mathematics academic program administrative supportExcellent verbal and communication skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse group of clientsWell-developed and strong interpersonal skillsExcellent time management, prioritization and organizational skillsExcellent skills in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, OneDrive) and SharePointExcellent skills with student information systems, such as ROSI and QuercusAssets (Nonessential):Experience directing the workflow for appointed and casual staffTo be successful in this role you will be:Closing Date: 12/05/2024, 11:59PM ETEmployee Group: USWAppointment Type: Budget - ContinuingSchedule: Full-TimePay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:USW Pay Band 11 -- $75,223. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $96,196.
