Instructional Designer (Elearning Specialist) - 6 Months Fixed Term Contract - Johannesburg

Overall Purpose of the Job:
The primary objective of the Instructional Designer is to lead the migration and enhancement of Capsicum Culinary Studio's courses from Blackboard to D2L Brightspace, ensuring engaging, interactive, and visually appealing learning experiences.

Key Performance Areas/Main Outputs and Responsibilities: Course Redesign and Development:Utilise RISE Articulate and Brightspace Creator+ to unpack and redevelop SCORM courses.Incorporate modern educational technologies and methodologies to enhance interactivity and learner engagement.Align course redesigns with the school's pedagogical goals and industry standards.Collaboration and Coordination:Work closely with project lead and culinary educators to ensure course content accuracy and relevancy.Collaborate with IT and technical support teams to ensure smooth integration and functionality of the courses on the new platform.Quality Assurance and Testing:Conduct regular testing to ensure courses meet functional and educational standards.Implement feedback from educators and learners to refine course materials.Project Management:Maintain thorough documentation of the migration process.Provide regular progress reports to stakeholders and adjust project timelines as needed.Training and Support:Assist in training other team members and educators on new tools and platforms as necessary.Provide post-launch support and troubleshooting to ensure a smooth transition for users. Education:
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Graphic design, Educational Technology, or a closely related field.
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years in instructional design, preferably with experience in SCORM and major LMS platforms (e.g., D2L Brightspace). Skills:
Proficiency in eLearning authoring tools, especially RISE Articulate.Strong project management skills and ability to meet deadlines.Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.Creative skills in graphic design and multimedia production are highly desirable.
