This dynamic position combines instructional leadership with service-learning expertise, supporting teachers in developing innovative pedagogical approaches while designing and implementing impactful service initiatives that connect our students with local and global communities. The ideal candidate will collaborate with faculty to enhance classroom instruction through research-based coaching practices, while also cultivating partnerships with community organizations and guiding students in meaningful service projects that align with our curriculum and globally connected philosophy. This role requires someone who can seamlessly integrate academic rigor with experiential learning opportunities, ensuring that our service initiatives deepen student learning while making a positive impact on our host community and beyond.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCEMasters degree and relevant teaching certification with a minimum of 5 years classroom experienceLeadership experience as a team leader, coordinator, coach, or similar role in an international schoolOutstanding interpersonal skills including adaptability, flexibility, and acceptance of a level of ambiguityExperience with effective student-centered instructional and assessment practicesExtensive experience with curriculum developmentExperience in inquiry/concept-based learning and the ability to support its developmentExperience in presenting and leading workshops on best practices to a diverse audienceUnderstanding of and experience with supporting a wide range of learner needsRecent and relevant professional developmentPERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIESCoach, support, and mentor effective teaching and learning practices with all teachersCoach and support teachers in the development of appropriate and authentic service-learning activities that support differentiated and integrated approachesIn collaboration with the Leadership Team, divisional representatives,andotherteachers, promote and support a strong service-learning leadership and ethos throughout the school to enable students of all abilities, needs, and cultural backgrounds to progressAssist with the development of curriculum and curricular materialsSupport teachers in planning mechanisms to articulate differentiated,integrated, and authentic assessment practicesrelated to service learningAssist in the development and implementation of professional learning activities that support the school's strategic direction for service learningOther instructional-related tasks as needed by the organizationAll community members are expected to be committed to the AISJ Community Principles.We are better when we act together.Our differences make us stronger.Every team needs individuals.
