QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: Matric or equivalentMinimum 5 years' experience as an alarm technicianExtensive programming, wiring, installations and fault-finding experienceJOB REQUIREMENTS & OTHER ATTRIBUTES: Valid driver's licence essentialMust be PSIRA registered (Grade E)Sound knowledge of DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox and Telecom systemsKnowledge of CCTV, Intercom systems and access control advantageousAble to work standby as and when requiredINTERNAL CLIENTS: InstallationsServicingInvestigationsOperationsTechnical TrainerEXTERNAL CLIENTS: FADT customersSuppliersDuties (Technical): Perform alarm installations as per quotationProgram alarm panels / system as per specificationsIssue clients with quotes on site for additional equipment if necessaryPlan the cable runs with the wiremanObtain customer codes before attending a call daily and when on StandbyComplete handoversComplete invoices and job cards after every installationProvide feedback to Manager / Supervisor and Call Centre upon completion of a callPerformance Standards (Technical): Ensure that installation corresponds to Sales Rep's quotationEnsure that alarms are programmed according to FADT prescribed standardsEnsure that the correct details are quotedAdhere to SHE requirements at all timesEnsure that the correct customer details are obtained prior to attending the callEnsure that handovers, invoices and job cards are completed accurately and within prescribed standardsEnsure that feedback is provided timeously to the relevant partiesDuties: (General): Download cites every morningKeep stock up to date and assist storeman with stock takeKeep the company vehicle cleanSubmit petrol slipsPerformance Standards (General): Ensure that stock is up to date atEnsure that stock is up to date at all times and report any discrepanciesEnsure that the company vehicle is clean at all timesEnsure that petrol slips are submitted weeklyCompetencies (technical & behavioural): Action OrientedPriority settingCustomer FocusPlanningInterpersonal savvyApproachabilityFunctional / Technical SkillsDelegationAction orientatedInformingPlanningWe reserve the right not to make an appointment to any advertised position.
