Inspector: Ntwp X1

Job description To conduct inspections at NNR regulated facilities and to conduct technical reviews and assessments against conditions of authorisation related to nuclear fuel cycle facilities, research reactors, radioisotope manufacturing, radioactive waste management facilities, and decommissioning of former nuclear facilities.
Minimum requirements NQF level 8 in one of these qualifications (Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Nuclear Engineering).Minimum of 3 years regulatory experience or relevant industry experience in operational or inspection.Valid driver's licence.Knowledge of the following: Radiation ProtectionNuclear SafetyWaste SafetyTransport SafetyEnvironmental ProtectionDuties and responsibilities Conduct inspections and monitor implementation of corrective actions.Review routine compliance submissions and occurrence reports from authorisation holders.Collect samples and review environmental monitoring reports from the laboratory.Participate in investigations.Respond to incidents and accidents as reported at authorisation holder's facilities.Issue enforcement instructions, as appropriate.Monitor performance trends against safety indicators in assigned areas or facilities.Prepare reports on work undertaken.Skills and Competencies TeamworkGood Communication skillsSelf-Management skillsPlanning and organizing skillsReport writing skillsPlease note that this position requires frequent travelling.
