This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.You qualify for the GS-11 grade level if you possess one of the following:Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-09 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:Assisting the team lead or supervisor in planning inspections and participating in briefings with team leads at inspection sites;Ensuring inspection findings provide complete identification of deficiencies and areas of concern;Developing sound recommendations which identify the appropriate level of the problem, and the type of corrective action necessary to fix the problem;Preparing written inspection findings with or for team leads or supervisors.Education: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL. M., if related.Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of successfully completed post-high school education and experience. This will be calculated using your resume and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.DutiesYou qualify for the GS-12 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as:Assisting the team lead or supervisor with conducting on-site inspections; Scheduling and conducting interviews at inspection sites;Providing input to develop the scope and inspection site rationale;Assisting the team lead or supervisor in developing the unique methodology and approach for the inspection site;Preparing documentation of the inspection process and findings.Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Qualification claims will be subject to verification.The incumbent may be assigned to one of the following inspection areas:Office of Detention Oversight (ODO) - Employees assigned to ODO are responsible for evaluating detention facilities' compliance with policies and detention standards for facilities that house ICE detainees.Management Inspections Unit (MIU) - Employees assigned to MIU are responsible for conducting on-site inspections of domestic and international ICE field offices and HQ programs to ensure operational and administrative compliance with established policies and procedures OR reviewing ICE's partnerships with state and local law enforcement agencies who participate in the 287(g) program.External Reviews and Analysis Unit (ERAU) - Employees assigned to ERAU are responsible for conducting administrative reviews of the facts and circumstances surrounding all aspects of an individual's passing while in ICE custody as well as conducting audits to ensure compliance with the DHS Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Standards.Salary: The salary range indicated in this announcement reflects the lowest and highest potential salaries for this position. The actual salary range will be based on the applicable locality pay for the selected duty location.
