We are currently in search of a seasoned UV Ink Formulation Chemist to spearhead our ink formulation initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in UV curable ink formulations and polymer chemistry.
They will play a pivotal role in driving the innovation and development of cutting-edge UV ink products tailored for diverse applications.
This position is based in the Cape Town region.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science, or related field.Minimum 7 years of experience in UV ink formulation.In-depth understanding of pigment dispersions, polymer chemistry and UV curing mechanisms.Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment relevant to ink formulation and testing.Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.Strong oral and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.Duties:Formulation Development:Design, develop, and optimize UV ink formulations for various applications.Maintain a systematic approach for ink formulation, ensuring consistent quality and performance.Testing and Validation:Conduct comprehensive testing of ink properties including adhesion, durability, colour, rheology, and cure speed.Validate the performance of new ink formulations through standardized and application-specific tests.Collaborate with the R&D team, sales, and application teams to understand market needs and tailor formulations accordingly.Work closely with raw material suppliers to stay abreast of the latest technologies and innovations.Documentation:Maintain detailed records of ink formulations, testing results, and production procedures.Prepare technical data sheets, safety datasheets, and other necessary documentation.Scale-up and Production Support:Assist in the scale-up of ink formulations from lab scale to production.Troubleshoot production issues related to ink formulation.Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and regulations related to UV inks.Drive continuous improvement initiatives in ink formulation processes.If you have not heard from us within 3 months of applying, please consider your application unsuccessful.Only online applications will be considered.By submitting your application, you give consent and authorise Elchemie to undertake collection, processing, and further processing of your Personal Information for the purposes of potentially securing employment.As an applicant, you agree to make available to Elchemie all necessary personal information required for the purpose of potentially securing employment and you understand and agree that should you upload personal information and data, that information will be shared with our authorised job placement database service provider, job portals, and websites.
