Industrial Relations Specialist

To ensure that processes and procedures in Industrial Relations are adhered to on a company-wide level. Minimizing risks to the business from a dispute resolution standpoint by ensuring that correct and consistent processes are maintained at all times. Training and Development of internal management in IR processes. Representation and attendance at internal IR forums / proceedings, and external dispute resolution forums. Lead Industrial Relations / Employee relations expertise to the business within area of responsibility.
Job Description

Industrial Relations responsible for maintaining good relations with employees and unions.
Managing and leading Union and Management Meetings.
Development and Implementation of the site IR & ER Strategy.
Be the specialist on disciplinary / grievance procedures.
Pro-actively identify areas of potential conflict.
Curate and advise on collective bargaining.
Facilitate the management and promotion of fair and sound Labour Relations.
Curate and advise on Disciplinary processes.
General IR advice to management.
Compiling of legal documents.
Represent the company at CCMA and brief attorneys to assist with labour court disputes.
Manage relationships between management and employees and lead initiatives to improve relationships between management and employees.
HR administration as and when advised by the Group IR Manager.
Coordinating and leading meetings between Management and Unions.
Ensuring record keeping of all IR/ER related proceedings and maintaining a database e.g. Minutes, disciplinary documents, agreements etc.
Drafting agreements reached at meetings.
Liaising between Union and Management to keep dialogue open.
Making recommendations regarding way forward discussions.

Job Requirements:

3-year Degree/Diploma in HRM/ Industrial Relations.
2 or more years integrated exposure in IR/HR.
Dispute Resolution experience (Grievances, CCMA and Bargaining Council).
Knowledge of Labour Laws (BCEA, LRA, EEA, OHASA).
Experience in a highly unionized environment.
Previous experience within the cleaning, FMCG and retail industry.
General business acumen.
Able to deal effectively with all levels of staff, including senior management.

Willing to travel (MUST have a valid driver's license and own vehicle).
Computer literate (All Microsoft packages).
Facilitation, Coordination and Analysis.
Excellent client relationship building skills.
Excellent active listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Sound communication skills on all levels (written and verbal).
Ability to work under pressure.
