Job Opportunity: Industrial Electrician
Our esteemed client, a prominent ink manufacturing company, is currently in search of an exceptional Industrial Electrician possessing advanced proficiency in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), holding a valid Red Seal certification, and having completed a recognized apprenticeship, preferably within South Africa's manufacturing landscape. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a robust expertise in electrical systems, adept troubleshooting skills, and a solid background in industrial maintenance. They will play a pivotal role in maintaining the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of our electrical infrastructure and equipment. This exciting opportunity is based in Cape Town.
Requirements:
Valid Red Seal certification as an Electrician.
Valid Registration as an electrical contractor with an IE number (to approve COC's).
Completed PLC training and certification.
Served in a recognized apprenticeship.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Industrial Electrician in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, circuits, and troubleshooting techniques.
Familiarity with safety protocols, regulations, and best practices.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Duties:
PLC Programming and Maintenance: Program, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC systems for optimal efficiency. Debug and resolve PLC-related issues to minimize downtime, with a proactive approach towards energy-saving solutions. Maintain updated documentation of PLC programs and configurations, adhering to local and international standards.
Electrical Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on industrial electrical systems and equipment. Identify and repair electrical faults, such as wiring, circuits, motors, and control panels. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all electrical work.
Collaboration: Collaborate with maintenance teams, engineers, and other departments to address electrical issues promptly.
Emergency Response: Provide quick and effective solutions during electrical emergencies, prioritizing safety and minimal production downtime.
Continuous Learning and Skill Development: Engage in ongoing training opportunities to stay abreast of advancements in automation, robotics, and renewable energy technologies relevant to ink manufacturing.
