About the roleThis is an exciting opportunity to join the Finance & Tax team of a dynamic, fast-growing business. The Indirect Tax analyst is critical in supporting the growth of the Heroes Group which operates in the UK, EU, US, and other global locations. This role reports directly to the Head of Tax.
In this interim role, you will be responsible for the review of the Group's indirect tax compliance, as well as the associated tax accounting and reporting. You will also get involved in indirect advisory projects, supply chain logistics flows and work closely with the Head of Tax in relation to any relevant Group tax planning.
Responsibilities Full ownership and responsibility for the Group's indirect tax compliance obligations; in house for the UK and working with our third-party compliance providers elsewhere to ensure timely and accurate filing of our VAT and sales tax returns.
Management and review of return information compiled by remote assistant.
Management of our tax payments and maintaining processes to ensure full recovery of VAT on expenses and imports.
Management of our EU intra community movements
Assist in any correspondence with local tax authorities.
Researching and understanding VAT (or equivalent sales tax) registration requirements globally
Responsible for monitoring new tax legislation and keeping on top of the evolving tax landscape to ensure the business is always well ahead of the game for any changes that may be required.
Responsible for maintaining and developing relationships with our external advisors.
Assist with tax automations within our ERP and IT systems, to drive efficiency and improve end-to-end tax compliance processes and controls. About you You're confident working in a constantly evolving environment.
You are a self-starter with a collaborative approach.
You will be ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified OR qualified by experience (at least 3 years of tax experience).
Willingness to get stuck in on learning other areas of tax outside of your specialism.
Experience in international groups is an advantage.
Excellent computer/ technology skills
Ability to clearly communicate tax technical issues to a non-tax audience. Working Pattern: - This is a maternity cover, 6 months contract
- 3 or 4 days per week / 24h or 32h per week spread across the week.
