Key Responsibilities:Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, establishing working agreements and performance metrics.Develop dual sourcing options for cGMP compliant suppliers to mitigate risks.Generate RFPs/RFQs and negotiate pricing and supply terms with suppliers.Order materials based on the planned master production schedule and execute MPS on the ERP system.Monitor open orders, expedite where necessary, and update the ERP system with any changes.Conduct spend analysis and lead cost-saving initiatives to improve operational efficiency.Collaborate with the New Product Development Team to bring new products to market, ensuring the supply chain supports these efforts.Share daily production plans with contract manufacturers, ensuring their alignment with ongoing capabilities and updating the plan as necessary.Prepare and share weekly stock status reports, identifying potential stock shortages or overstocking issues.Report regularly to the management team on supply chain performance and cost-saving opportunities.Minimum Requirements:Qualifications:A degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field is essential.Postgraduate qualifications as a functional specialist will be advantageous.Skills & Experience:At least 8 years of experience in a Planner/Buyer role within a supply chain environment.Proven experience in Lean Principles, Theory of Constraints, or Six Sigma is essential.Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with suppliers.Advanced computer literacy, particularly in MS Office (Excel) and ERP systems like Sage/Xperdyte.Experience in the Pharmaceutical or FMCG environment is highly beneficial.Active membership in a relevant vocational society.Personal Attributes:Strong organizational and time management skills.Deadline-driven and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.Excellent communication and customer focus, upholding ethical standards.Persistent and proactive in identifying and resolving supply chain issues.
