As an Import Creditor's Controller in the Finance Department at Cape Union Mart, your key responsibilities are as follows:
Onboarding of New SuppliersSupplier PaymentsProcess Supplier and Agent's commission payments on time according to their payment termsProcess credit notes against future payments where applicableProcess Letters of Credit (L/C) according to contractual obligationsAccurately record supplier payments on registerReconcile bank statements to registerEnsure supplier payments are made within maximum banking facilitiesSupplier Foreign Bills of Collection from Bank to LSPSuggest and test system enhancementsGovernanceSupply all necessary documentation to Auditors as and when requestedLiaise with Auditors on process confirmationEnsure all payments and claims are processed according to SA Company Law RegulationsSkills required: Good written and verbal communication skillsMust be able to work closely with foreign suppliers and other internal departmentsGood numerical skillsTroubleshooting - Determining causes of operating errors and appropriate steps to rectify themTime Management - Managing one's own time and the time of othersService Orientation - Actively looking for ways to help your customersStrong organizational and prioritization skillsProficient use of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams in particular)Use of various Online portals, training issued on siteAn accounting qualification or working towards oneMinimum 2-3 years' experience in foreign or local supplier paymentsRemain up to date in latest technology and business process changes in this field internationally and locallyPlease note: The Cape Union Mart Group is committed to transformation.
