The Import Controller will be responsible for coordinating and managing the importation process, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods while maintaining compliance with all applicable regulations.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of import procedures, excellent organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.Key Responsibilities:Coordinate and monitor all import activities to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods.Prepare and process import documentation and ensure compliance with international trade regulations.Communicate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to track shipments and resolve any issues.Manage and maintain accurate records of all import transactions, including invoices, bills of lading, and customs declarations.Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures for import operations.Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate potential import risks.Monitor and analyze import data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings.Collaborate with internal departments such as procurement, finance, and warehousing to streamline the import process.Provide guidance and support to junior staff members involved in import activities.Stay updated on changes in import regulations and industry best practices.Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field.A minimum of 2 years of experience in import control or a similar role.In-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and import documentation requirements.Proficiency in relevant software and systems (e.g., ERP, MS Office, etc.
