My client in a mining industry has a position of EXPLOSIVE OPERATOR based in Northern Cape - Beeshoek. is a world-class blasting services company delivering premium solutions to the most important mining regions across Africa. Purpose of the job is to support the mining services team objectives and business imperatives by providing efficient coaching and advice to the customers on the application of explosives products while enhancing the customer/supplier relationship. Job Description Comply with all Customer rules and procedures when operating at Customer sites. Assist the Explosives Controller to conduct routine fault finding, trouble shooting, maintenance and repairs on the MMU process plant and chassis. Assist the Site Administrator with stock control. Load and unload the MMU with the correct raw materials. Unload raw materials (emulsion Matrix and Expan tankers). Cleaning and decontamination of MMU. Identification of any abnormal conditions on the MMU and within the work area and reporting thereof to the Explosives Controller and/or Site Supervisor. Maintain ownership of bulk explosives MMU by conducting good housekeeping of the cab, chassis and plant. Minimize and clean up any raw material spillage and dispose of any spillage in the correct waste streams. Ensure correct PPE is used, is in good condition and is correctly worn at all times. Housekeeping of work area. Identify workplace hazards and associated risks and deal with it appropriately ( Hirac & Risk Assessment). Comply to the Mine`s safety and health procedures. Attend to mines induction training. Maintain basic safety, health and environment issues. Assess the product application practices. Identify incorrect product application practices. Demonstrate and coach the correct practices. Job Requirements Must have Grade 12. 1-2 years experience in the mining or similar environment. Possession of a valid code C Drivers license is advantageous. Blasting Assistant Certificate. Competency A Certificate is advantageous. KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED Working independently.
