Duties & Responsibilities Manage information technology systemsDirect all site network topologies, primary and secondary connections using monitoring tools to notify business of any connection drops.Monitor network and firewalls from a central location to minimise risks.Evaluate firewalls so that all are set up to fail over from the primary to the secondary to guarantee minimum downtime in the event of failure.Assess backup power by checking Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems are in place to remove the risk of power cuts.Control Anti-Virus systems by ensuring installation on all machines to prevent virus and malware attacks.Monitor performance of information technology systems to determine productivity levels, and to make recommendations for improving the IT infrastructureManage datacentres, servers, and infrastructureMonitor all cabinets by checking temperature sensors ensuring infrastructure does not overheat.Update all servers according to latest Windows Updates (Patches) released to minimise risk ok cyber infection.
Direct all networking switch devices through the centralised controller to keep network stable and devices up to date.
Develop offsite access availability to datacentre according to Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller (iDRAC) guidelines to assist in the event of server malfunction.Monitor server and application health through various tools to enable maximum output.
System design and implementationDefine business system requirements by analysing processes to resolve current challengesDetermine requirements and develop project plans by means of user meetings and interviews to finalise pre-requisites.Develop systems with IT General Manager within needed platforms to guarantee all requirements are met and completed successfully.Test system with the project requester to guarantee final goal is achieved.Review system after project has gone live with testing group to enable them to review to give feedback. Monitor and improve firewallsManage and monitor internal and hosting firewall rules in conjunction with Networks.Identify accurate causes of security violations.Implementation of appropriate remedies to ensure data and systems security.Proactive implementation of fixes and patches to block viruses and attacks to the entire ICT system environment.Ensure that the data transmissions are encrypted and configure firewalls to conceal confidential information during transmission. Maintain industry best practicesMaintain industry best practices with regards to ICT Security controls such as: Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware, Patch management, Remote Access VPN, data and web content filtering, Data Loss Prevention, etcMaintain awareness of ICT security trends and vulnerabilities, e.g.
major virus outbreaks.Conduct proactive and effective communication (Intranet, email, posters) of risks and vulnerabilities to staff.Researching emerging threats and the safeguards that can provide protectionCloud management and advancementMaintain, administer and backup of cloud security servers and applications.Optimizing cloud systems to ensure the network is supportive and responsiveManage and implement on prem to cloud migrationsControl and maintain public and private cloud, hybrid cloud, or multi-cloud Desired Experience & Qualification May be required to work extended hours.License and own vehicle 3-year National Diploma in ITAdvanced Diploma in Cyber SecurityNetwork +Security +Professional level Information Security Certification (CISSP / CISM / CISA) will be an added advantage Good knowledge and understanding of industry best practice with regards to IT Security controls such as: Anti-Virus/Anti-Malware, Patch management, RemoteAccess VPN, data and web content filtering, Data Loss PreventionGood knowledge and understanding of company internal control procedures and risk policyExpert in Microsoft 365Expert in Microsoft AzureStructured Query Language (SQL) Programming and administration Expert in Cybersecurity
