The HR officer will be responsible for all HR functions in the company to ensure a healthy, productive and compliant work environment for all staff members.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESAct as a liaison between employees and management to address and resolve concerns, promoting a harmonious and productive work environment.Conduct regular audits of staff files, maintaining 100% accuracy and completeness in both digital and hard copy formats.Oversee the recruitment process, from job postings and sourcing candidates to conducting interviews and facilitating the onboarding process.Successfully manage monthly submissions and payments to Momentum and the Industrial Council (MIBFA), ensuring punctual and accurate contributions.Compile detailed Employment Equity (EE) Reports and Work Skills Plans and submit all relevant information to LabourNet, supporting strategic HR decisions and compliance.Support managers in performance appraisals, goal setting, and employee development plans.Drive internal and external staff training, including but not limited to the official company training portal.Manage the employment equity committee, consistently monitoring and implementing the equity plan to meet regulatory standards.Work with LabourNet to ensure full company compliance with POPIA, EE, and Health & Safety (H&S) regulations through diligent oversight and proactive policy updates.Effectively draft disciplinary warnings and represent the company in hearings, contributing to a fair and balanced workplace environment.Plan and execute impactful HR-related events, including team-building activities, year-end functions, and internal awareness campaigns, strengthening team cohesion.Draft, update, and deliver effective HR, EE, and POPIA policies training.Manage the full payroll cycle, including complex components like overtime and bonuses.Effectively administer staff loans and savings programs.GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure that all company policies and procedures are followed.Assist with tasks related to the company operations that might fall outside the indicated duties and responsibilities.QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLSBachelor's degree in Human Resources and/or Industrial Psychology or a related field.3 – 5 years experience as an HR Officer, HR Coordinator, or in a similar role.Knowledge of HR best practices, labour laws, and HR systems.Knowledge of SA Laws relating to payroll, i.e. PAYE.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organisation.Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.The ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.Proficient in MS Office; experience with HR software (e.g. HRIS, payroll systems) is a plus.REPORTS TOLOCATIONThis position is based at our Johannesburg office: Cussonia Park, 3 Ridge Road, Laser Park, Johannesburg, 2170
