Purpose of the job:
To provide professional advice and guidance to Line Management, Shop Stewards and all employees on Human Resources matters in line with the Labour Legislation, company policies and agreements. Reporting to: Regional Manager - Human Resources
Minimum Requirements:
Matric/ Grade 12
Minimum 3+Years National Diploma in Human Resources (NQF Level 6)
B-Tech in Human Resources or Post Graduate Diploma in Labour Law will be an added advantage
Proven track record / relevant work experience in a similar role
Manufacturing Industry knowledge (Highly advantageous)
Valid driver's licence (Highly advantageous)
Trade Union environment work experience (Highly advantageous)
Main Responsibilities:
Support and compile relevant HR reports as mandated by the HR Manager
Provide supporting role and or represent the company at the Bargaining Council in Conciliation matters, with guidance from the HR Manager and/or Director
Provide a supporting role in preparation of Bundles for Arbitration matters
Pro-active approach in dealing with IR matters on the shopfloor
Ensure good Communication with all stakeholders i.e. Employees, Management and Trade Unions
Ensure there is Labour Peace in the workplace
Manage absenteeism, follow HR Trends, and implement improvement strategies
Consistently and fairly implement HR Policies and Procedures
Manage and foster good relations between Management, Employees and Trade Unions, at all times
Ensure Disciplinary cases and Grievances are fairly and procedurally resolved timeously as prescribed
Ensure that employee benefits are fairly and equitably implemented
Liaise with external Employee Benefits service providers on issues such as medical aid, retirement funds, disabilities, and general HR related administrative issues
Ensure all employee benefits and relevant administration are adequately addressed, carried-out, and processed with the relevant Funds/Schemes
Schedule, take minutes and report on stakeholder meetings between the company and the Union/s
Be always on top of shop-floor issues to understand Operations and IR/HR matters
Provide support when required with general statutory reporting requirements including but not limited to Employment Equity
Key Skills and Competencies:
High level computer literacy such as Excel, MS Office etc.
Negotiation and Conflict handling skills
Ability to manage multiple and concurrent projects on time
