It is imperative that our entire team understands what we stand for, and to stand up for it!Purpose of the job:Smoke Customer Intelligence is seeking an experienced, energetic, and motivated HR Manager for a shared services role supporting two entities.
This includes talent acquisition, non-product training and development, HR administration in compliance with South African labour laws, and fostering cultural alignment.
The HR Manager will address employee matters while driving motivation and engagement across teams.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, skilled in all aspects of HR, and adept at building relationships with employees and leadership alike.Salary & Benefits:Market-related TCTC per month – Based on skill and qualification of the candidate.

We have budgets to help with studies, Personal Development Plans (PDPs) to ensure mentorship and coaching, as well as processes to expose you to new technologies.Job Responsibilities:HR Strategy:Oversee the operational management of the Human Resources function and department.Develop and implement strategies pertaining to the entire employee life cycle as part of the overarching People Strategy.Collaborate with and provide regular updates to the CEO on all operational and human capital activities or initiatives across the business.Actively participate in and contribute to the leadership team at the Operations Committee (OpCo) level.Partner with Senior Management and Heads of Departments to address departmental needs and drive team initiatives.Recruitment and Onboarding:Manage and oversee the onboarding process.
Provide guidance to the HR team with regards to recruitment and candidate profiles.Identify and recruit employees as required, through the relevant platforms.Ensure that all new employees in the relevant departments are welcomed and orientated.Analyse trends in compensation and benefits through research, to ensure the organisation attracts and retains top talent.Training and Development:Provide direction and recommend training and development processes and initiatives.Lead discussions on training requirements and initiatives following performance and probation appraisals with relevant managers and teams.Guide and develop the HR team to achieve operational excellence and support professional growth.Performance Management:Monitor and drive the quality and efficiency of the performance management processes during onboarding and continuous initiatives.Ensure that all objectives and milestones for probationary periods are documented and relayed accurately.
Ensure that the aforementioned is carried out in accordance with the correct timelines and performance deliverables.Drive the performance management process, assist with performance management initiatives and Performance Improvement Plans (where required).Job Descriptions:Draft Job Descriptions in alignment with relevant KPAs, KPIs and responsibilities.Update Job Descriptions according to organic growth or structural changes within the company.Collaborate with business units to ensure all roles are accurately captured and delivered in Job Descriptions.Employment Equity & Skills Development:Act as Section 24 Employment Equity Manager.Conduct quarterly EE meetings with the EE & SD committee.Compile EE plans (EEA13) in accordance with the company's strategic goals.Compile and submit annual submissions (EEA2, EEA4) as well prepare the EE Analysis (EEA12).Assist Head of Finance with compilation of EE and SD data for B-BBEE.Manage company Learnerships with the relevant service providers and SETA's.Industrial Relations:Monitor operational activities within the company to anticipate any potential organisational labour risks or threats.Engage with relevant departments and business units in an advisory capacity regarding employee relations.Identify, action and investigate all processes regarding operational requirements, performance, incapacity and misconduct.Initiate disciplinary and performance inquiries and proceedings.Prepare for and action all CCMA related matters or processes and attend to Conciliations, Arbitrations where required.Payroll Administration:Employee benefits administration (Provident fund, life cover, disability cover, funeral cover and medical aid).Maternity leave and statutory exit documentation, such as UIF.Employee leave administration.Policies and Procedures:Ensure that all policies and procedures are updated in accordance with the company's strategic direction, relevant labour law and amendments as well as operational changes to processes.Ensure that all employees are made aware of any amendments to policies and that employee acknowledgement is documented.Write and implement policies and SOPs and assist with HR preparation for ISO verifications and compliance.Occupational Health and Safety:Ensure that all First Aid and Firefighter training remains up to date by monitoring certifications and arranging training with service providers.Employee Wellness:Conduct bi-annual engagement surveys to report on employee engagement sentiment and eNPS.Assist employees with ad hoc requests for personal support.Employee Engagement:Implement and recommend initiatives that enhance employee engagement.Facilitate weekly employee engagement survey distributions and report on engagement feedback.Facilitate the 'Celebrates' tool within the business to recognise employee accomplishments.Manage the company social committee and ensure that all minor and major social events are arranged.Budget Management:Prepare and submit the departmental HR budget and Social Committee budget for approval.Monitor and manage spend within the department as well as spend by Social Committee members.Required Skills/Abilities:Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.Solution-oriented mindset and be comfortable in an environment requiring strong deliverables, with the ability to identify challenges and implement effective solutions.Ability to prioritise tasks and timelines.Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Must be self-motivated and enthusiastic regarding the challenges and opportunities of a dynamic organisation.Exceptional judgment in assessing candidates to ensure alignment with SmokeCI's culture, values, and team dynamics.Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement.Strong project management skills.Experience & knowledge required:Minimum of 5 years Human Resources management experience and 10 years in the HR field.Experience working for a SaaS company would be beneficial.Robust knowledge and experience of HR functions and best practices.Minimum qualification:Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources/Industrial Psychology or related field.Registered Skills Development Facilitator would be beneficial.Apply Now
