Hire Resolve is a reputable and fast-growing recruitment agency, and we are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Human Resources Generalist with a focus on Engineering to join our clients team in Johannesburg. As the Human Resources Generalist – Engineering, you will be responsible for providing HR support and guidance to the engineering division. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our engineering team members are effectively recruited, onboarded, and supported throughout their employment journey.
Additionally, you will be responsible for implementing HR policies and procedures, managing employee relations, and supporting performance management processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong HR background with a focus on working with engineering professionals. You should have knowledge of engineering roles, skills, and industry trends, as well as a good understanding of labor laws and regulations in South Africa.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment and Staffing:
Develop strategies to attract and retain top talent.
Manage the entire recruitment cycle: job postings, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
Collaborate with department heads on staffing needs and job descriptions.
Ensure smooth onboarding, orientation, and training.
Employee Relations:
Act as the main contact for employee inquiries and concerns.
Promote open communication and resolve conflicts professionally.
Conduct employee relations investigations and recommend actions.
Organize employee engagement activities and events.
Performance Management:
Develop and implement performance management processes.
Assist managers with setting goals, evaluations, and feedback.
Address performance issues with coaching and support.
Coordinate recognition and reward programs.
Training and Development:
Assess training needs and develop relevant programs.
Deliver training on HR topics and support career development.
Create growth opportunities for employees.
Compliance and HR Policies:
Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
Develop and update HR policies and procedures.
Maintain accurate employee records and conduct audits.
HR Administration:
Handle payroll, benefits, and leave management.
Prepare and analyze HR reports to support decisions.
Manage offboarding, including exit interviews and paperwork.
Support senior leaders with HR projects and initiatives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
Minimum of 4 years of experience in an HR generalist role, preferably within the renewable energy or construction sectors.
Strong knowledge of local labor laws and HR best practices.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is preferred but not required.
