The Role The Human Resources Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the HR Manager with daily HR operations.
From maintaining staff records to assisting with recruitment and training, this position is integral in ensuring the smooth functioning of the HR department.
Whats in a Days Work?
Daily HR Operations Maintain and update staff files, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Take minutes at hearings, meetings, and other forums.
Answer basic HR and employment confirmation queries.
Recruitment and Onboarding Assist Heads of Departments (HoDs) with setting up shortlists and interviews for recruitment.
Support onboarding processes to integrate new staff seamlessly.
Training and Development Coordinate training activities with external providers.
Capture completed training for Workplace Skills Plan (WSP) purposes.
Use CATHSSETA online systems to manage training requirements (advantageous).
Payroll and Compliance Capture leave and payroll information on Sage People 300 (advantageous).
Generate UIF forms and assist with other payroll-related documentation.
Ensure compliance with BCEA, LRA, SDA, and EEA.
Reporting and Improvements Liaise with the HR Manager to report anomalies, variances, and propose ideas for improvement.
Requirements Qualifications and Experience Relevant Diploma or Degree in Human Resources.
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
Completion of an SDF course is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies Language: English (well-spoken); knowledge of Xhosa is an advantage.
Knowledge of CATHSSETA online system and Sage People 300 payroll software (advantageous).
Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic understanding of BCEA, LRA, SDA, and EEA.
Other Requirements Valid drivers license.
Ability to live on-site at the game reserve.
