Overview: Our client, a leading global asset manager, is seeking a Human Capital Business Partner to join their Human Capital department.
The role sits in their Global Business Partner team and is an opportunity to closely partner with their leaders to build strong relationships and develop a deep knowledge of their business and their people.
The role will have a primary focus on South Africa, but the team operates on a global basis, so it offers the opportunity to develop knowledge and experience across all regions.
The Business Partner team is responsible for developing and offering direction, support, and expertise on a wide range of topics, ranging from employee lifecycle processes, talent and performance, through to employee relations.
The role will also include responsibility for employment legal work, as well as the people side of any local regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities: Partner closely with the business to provide expertise, innovation, and best practices on both day-to-day and strategic people matters Collaborate with managers to create and nurture high-performing, talent-dense teams through regular performance and talent processes Advise on best practices and processes for employee relations, including business changes, grievances, disciplinaries, sickness, and leaver scenarios Manage employment legal work and regulatory matters with a people-focused approach Develop globally consistent procedures and practices while ensuring compliance with local legal and regulatory requirements Oversee international employee mobility, with a particular focus on moves to and from Africa Design and deliver relevant training programs to meet team and organizational needs Risk and Compliance Responsibilities: Adhere to all Compliance and Human Capital policies and procedures, including personal account dealing, gifts, and market abuse Ensure timely completion of Compliance training, declarations, and relevant forms Protect firm and client data, including IT data, to maintain confidentiality and security Report any potential or actual breaches, errors, complaints, or conduct issues Report suspicions of money laundering, fraud, or other crimes such as market abuse involving clients, investors, or employees Requirements: Degree qualified Minimum of 8 years' relevant experience in a professional services environment Knowledge and experience of applicable employment law Experience working within a Human Capital team Strong drafting skills (advantageous) Personal Attributes: Self-motivated, flexible, and detail-oriented Enthusiastic, positive, and comfortable in a client-facing role Excellent communication skills, including interpersonal, verbal, and written abilities
