To collect, analyse, consolidate and report on HSEQ data, and key performance indicators (KPIs) using advanced data analysis techniques to mine information on HSEQ performance to identify patterns, trends, insights, and solutions for the business to enable decision making on key strategic controls to minimize risk and improve efficiency.Who You Are:You have strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.You are committed to delivering quality outputs, with a high concern for accuracy and attention to detail.You are team orientated and customer focused.You have the ability to work with people of various levels, both in the organisation and in the broader business environment.You work well under pressure, with little or no supervision, and display excellent time management skills.What you'll have done before:Baseline:NQF Level 7 (Degree in Computer Science/ Engineering/ Data Science/ Business Analytics).4 years' experience in Data/ Statistical Analysis.Experience in Data Analytics/ BI/ Data Science.Proficiency in statistical applications/ tech tools (PowerBI, SAC, Tableau, Excel, VBA, BI tools).Experience in Software Engineering/ Business Software Solutions.Advantageous:Additional qualification in Mathematics or Statistics.Coding skills (SQL, Python, R).Experience in HSEQ Database and dashboards development and management.Experience in predictive analytics.What you'll be doing:HSEQ Data ManagementDevelop templates, collection system, and databases for all required HSEQ data.Use data mining techniques to consolidate and analyse information from available data sources to support process optimisation and automation modelling.Perform cleansing, processing, and validation on the data subject to analyze, in order to ensure its quality and liaise with data providers to improve quality of data where required.Work with business requirements to identify and understand source data systems and identify resolutions to data issues and drive automation of HSEQ reports.ANALYSIS & COMMUNICATIONConduct analysis on HSEQ data using advanced methods including predictive analytics to extract valuable insights and forecast future trends and events.Collaborate with HSEQ Specialists and SMEs to improve analysis and technical insights.Maintain standard and ad hoc reports, templates, dashboards with insights, and metrics that drive change in the business which are tailored in level of detail for the appropriate stakeholders.Communicate to internal stakeholders through discussion, presentations, and write-ups of results, recommendations and meaningful insights gained through data analysis to be used to develop strategic and operational plans.Compile and share HSEQ Performance trends for the Group and the business units.Perform ad-hoc analysis as necessary to answer business questions and drive decisions.HSEQ Strategy & Target Setting.Perform required calculations to determine annual targets and limits for Engen and frontline divisions KPIs and support goal setting process.Monitor and provide feedback monthly on HSEQ performance against targets at Engen and Divisional levels.Support development of strategic interventions to address HSEQ performance through data-driven information.MANAGEMENT REPORTINGCompile HSEQ papers and presentation material for key engagements (HSEQ MC, Engen MC, Social & Ethics Committee, Management Audit Review & Compliance Committee, Board Audit Review & Compliance Committee and Engen Board) to ensure proper reporting of all HSEQ related activities.Additional Information:Location: Cape TownJob Advert Closing Date: All job adverts close five days after date posted.Engen's approved Employment Equity plans and targets will be considered as part of the recruitment process.We welcome applications from people with disabilities.
