Our client is seeking an HSE Officer on a 6-12 month contract basis, to be based in their Cape Town office.About Our ClientOur client is a South African marine services company that specializes in marine construction, diving, surveying, non-destructive testing, and salvage operations.Job SummaryThe HSE Officer will be the first point of contact for all SHEQ related matters for projects.THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTIn order to be shortlisted for this role, you should have the following skills and experience:Minimum 3 years' experience in marine, construction, or oil and gas industryOHS Certificate or equivalentSACPCMP RegistrationFirefighting and First Aid CertificatesRisk Assessment and Incident Investigation CertificatesExperience with HSE and quality management systemsKnowledge of current HSE legislationJOB DESCRIPTIONThe role responsibilities will include:Implement HSE Policies and Procedures: Ensure all employees and contractors comply with the company's HSE policies, standards, and procedures.Conduct Risk Assessments: Perform regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards and recommend effective control measures to mitigate risks.Safety Inspections and Audits: Conduct routine safety inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and operations to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.Incident Investigation and Reporting: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and provide recommendations to prevent recurrence.
