HSE Manager Requirements
Qualification: Relevant HSE qualification.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience as HSE manager within a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge:

Understanding of OHS-Act, Government, and local authority legislation.
Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 and implementation of these systems.
ISO 19001 competent and a minimum of 3 years auditing experience.

Responsibilities:

Conduct audits, risk assessments, and PHAs.
Manage Medical Surveillance and Health screening.
Perform Auditing and Compliance Evaluations.
Conduct facility and process assessments to determine risks and remedies.
Report on findings and follow up.
Implement corrective actions timeously.
Implement HSE plan and guidelines.
Facilitate risk assessment reports and registers to comply with legislative and standard requirements.
Assist in Process Hazard analysis, recommendation, and implementation.
Facilitate third-party risk engineering assessments and action plans from these.
Review Hygiene Risk assessments and ensure hygiene surveys are carried out as per legislative requirements.
Schedule entry and exit medicals and confirm fit to work or exit status in conjunction with HR.
Facilitate the scheduling of the occupational health medical surveillance program.
Assess medical reports with HR and ensure monitoring of abnormalities and discussion with concerned individuals.
Monitor primary health illnesses with HR and maintain employees' fitness status.
Provide information to HR to facilitate disability processing and medical reports/documentation, and provide guidance where required.
Compile resources, policies, procedures, work instructions, and safe operating procedures rolled out throughout facilities.
Set evaluation criteria and communicate this to all facilities.
Audit processes and facilities in line with ISO as well as legislative compliance requirements and report findings.
Assist employees in closing out findings, including external audits.
Ensure that bi-annual environmental screening is conducted, and findings are actioned.
Conduct monthly site inspections to monitor compliance.
