Job Description -The focus for this role will be to:
Implementation and coordination of continuous evaluation in engineering skills training.
Design new training programmes to meet organisational needs.
Coordinate and schedule training capacity in support of engineering training strategy.
Report progress against predetermined targets.
Implement Marketing strategy.
Conduct specialized courses.
Performance & Delivery
Integrate industry engineering best practices into learning delivery system at ESTC.
Ensure compliance with the relevant legislations applicable to specific trades including but not limited to the SDA, SDLA, FETCA, OHSA, SAQA, QCTO, LRA, BCEA, EE, DHET.
Compliance in terms of MQA and QCTO accreditation process, MHSA and QMS requirements.
Training processes and resources analysed, designed, developed, implemented and evaluated.
Training capacity (infrastructure, curriculum, resources) designed and managed for training needs.
Training budget controlled.
Measurement, evaluation and reporting for engineering learning programmes.
Internal and external stakeholder's relationship including service providers and external clients.
Performance management of training team.
Moderation conducted for engineering learning delivery.
Quality assure practical learning delivery systems at workplace.
National alignment participation.
This role is at a Band 7 level reporting to the Section Manager Engineering Academy.
Qualifications
Minimum NQF Level 5 OD ETDP Higher Certificate. NQF 6 Diploma in OD ETDP will be advantageous.
Engineering Trade Certificate.
Senior Foreman/Engineering Specialist Certificate will be advantageous.
Assessor and Moderator Certificate.
Experience:
5 years engineering SME experience, including 1 year supervisory experience and 2 years HRD Experience/Foreman experience.
Advantageous: Projects experience.
Technical Knowledge:
Sets up and manages processes to implement the organisation's HRD strategy and plan at operational level.
Coaching and mentoring.
Induction/orientation.
Career management: Develops processes for managers and employees to agree annually on individual development plans.
Knowledge management.
Change Management.
Provides HRD reports to line managers in own area of responsibility and interprets these as required.
