African Parks applies a strong results-driven 'business approach to conservation', with each park managed holistically, ensuring that they are ecologically, socio-politically, and financially sustainable.Primary PurposeThe Human Resources and Payroll Officer will play a critical role in supporting the organization by ensuring the efficient and accurate management of human resources and payroll functions. This position is vital in maintaining compliance, fostering employee satisfaction, and supporting organizational goals. This role requires someone willing to travel between JHB Bryanston and Klerksdorp weekly.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare, review, and amend essential HR documentation, such as employment contracts, amendments to conditions of service, and HR policies.Maintain, update, and organize comprehensive employee records in compliance with legal and organizational standards.Serve as the first point of contact for new employees, providing guidance and support during the onboarding process.Conduct exit interviews, facilitate offboarding processes, and ensure accurate documentation for departing employees.Collaborate with payroll teams to deliver timely and accurate monthly payroll inputs, including salary adjustments, benefits, and deductions.Perform audits and ensure compliance with leave and attendance policies to maintain accuracy in payroll processing.Ensure strict confidentiality and accuracy in handling payroll data and sensitive employee information.Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual reports to support management decisions and ensure compliance with labor laws.Conduct regular leave audits and assist in preparing reports for regulatory and internal audits.Assist in planning and implementing HR initiatives such as staff engagement activities, performance reviews, and training programs.Lead or participate in ad hoc HR and organizational projects, or employee wellness programs.Utilize and manage Sage People 300 (Payroll) and Employee Self-Service tools effectively to ensure seamless HR operations.
