IntroductionThe Human Resources Officer will provide comprehensive HR support and expertise to ensure effective people management and the achievement of organisational objectives. This position involves overseeing various HR functions, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training and development, and compliance with labour laws and regulations. The Human Resources Officer acts as a strategic partner to the management team and works closely with employees at all levels to foster a positive work environment and drive employee engagement.Duties & ResponsibilitiesBusiness PartneringFirst point of contact between HR, Line Managers and employees.Look at the business needs and provide solutions.Manpower analysis and budget approval.Quarterly HR Clinics are educating line managers and employees on HR processes and procedures.Assist & guide Business Unit Manager in driving and achieving HR Objectives for the regions.HR AdministrationMaintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, HR databases, and personnel files.Prepare HR reports, metrics, and analytics as required.Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and initiatives.Manage HR documentation, including employment contracts, agreements, and letters.PayrollInput Sheets for payroll.Payroll Queries for the branch.SAGE ESS queries for the branch.Coordination and allocation of all work resources for the employees.Onboarding & Off BoardingExpedite the termination process and conduct exit interviews.Analyse the trends of exit interviews and come up with interventions.Organization Structure ManagementManagement of the approved headcount for the region as per budget.Prepare documents for promotions, transfers, and demotions and effect changes in the system.Data update on the organograms.Data Integrity of the SAGE ESS system ensuring that all data is accurate and updated.Creation of new positions or re-organized positions as per approved headcount.Assisting Line Managers with drafting or updating job profiles.Recruitment & Talent ManagementCompletion of recruitment requisitions & obtaining relevant approval.Manage the end-to-end recruitment process, including job postings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making job offers.Collaborate with hiring managers to identify workforce needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.Co-ordinate appointments with SHEQ Department for medicals.Assist managers with Key Performance Agreement for newly recruit.Building talent pipeline and succession planning.Employee RelationsAct as a primary point of contact for employees on HR-related matters, providing guidance, support, and resolutions to employee concerns or grievances.Assist in the drafting of Charge sheets.Form part of disciplinary hearings.Assist Line Managers in issuing warnings.Educating and guiding Line Managers and employees on ER-related processes, policies, and procedures.Promote positive employee relations by fostering a culture of open communication, respect, and fairness.Work closely with Novaxa legal team on litigation matters and ensure proper processes and ER procedures are adhered to.Assist the Legal team in CCMA cases.Compliance and LegalStay up to date with relevant labour laws, regulations, and industry-specific requirements.Collaborate with management to address legal and compliance issues.Performance ManagementEnsuring all employees' performance contracts have been set, drafted and captured as per the performance cycle.Provide guidance and coaching to managers and employees to enhance performance and address performance issues.Ensure performance evaluations are conducted on time and are aligned with company objectives.Ensuring underperformers are on the performance enhancement programme and follow up on the three-monthly programmes to put their performance up to speed.Learning & DevelopmentAssist employees with compiling their Individual Development Plans.Working closely with Learning & Development consultants in driving learning and development initiatives.Employee WellnessCollate, Coordinate incapacity, ill health and death cases ensuring documentation is submitted to the service providers.Drive Wellness programs in the regions.Facilitate the onboarding (Induction) to be given to all employees.HR ProjectsAssist with HR and business projects in providing manpower.Form part of the Employment Equity and Skills meeting and drive EE initiatives.Analyze all business risks that have an HR impact.Desired Experience & QualificationMatric + B Degree in HRM/Industrial PsychologyRegistration with the SABPPMining & Quarrying
