A post graduate qualification in labour law will be an added advantage At least 5 years HR Management experience, with emphasis on employee relations in a unionized environment Experience in negotiating and implementing collective agreements as well as exposure to national bargaining councils Dispute resolution experience, in particular representing businesses at the Labour Courts and labour institutions Exposure to Human Resources Information Systems and Payroll Systems Relevant Generalist experience at a management / senior level Computer literate Strong English written and verbal communication skills The successful Human Resources Manager will focus on the following including but not limited to: Driving and implementing strategic human resources initiatives, supporting the business strategic plans, including talent management. Providing advisory support to line managers, and in-depth understanding of all policies, procedures, labour legislation and related processes. Providing leadership and effective day to day management of the Human Resources function Implementation of the companys employment equity plans in line with the strategic business plan. Influencing management decisions positively through contributing, interpreting and analysing relevant HR information & metrics. Promoting and facilitating team processes, including performance management at the operations Influence the design and management of HR processes to ensure that the business remains agile and responsive to human capital requirements Implementation of the group employee relations strategy at operational level, including engagement with labour unions and community structures. Managing dispute resolution, including the management of cases referred to the, Labour Court etc. Manage the engagement with unions on consultations/negotiations in support of business objectives. Manage the application of labour legislation in relation to discipline, dismissals etc. Supporting Line Management in the recruitment and selection of staff, Identifying key roles in the operations in order to ensure that the business is appropriately resourced at all times Responding proactively to changing resourcing needs and promote the business as an employer of choice Ensure internal adherence or controls are complied with to minimize recruitment risk. Manage and implement the companys retention strategy at operational level Manage the implementation of the companys people development strategies at operational level, including the effectiveness of driver training, supervisory and management development Ensure accurate and reliable information is collated for management reporting purposes.
