About the role: We are seeking a highly organised and proactive HR Generalist and Office Manager to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our office and supporting our team both locally and in coordination with our Cape Town office.
Your responsibilities: Here's a bit more on what you can expect to be doing day-to-day: HR Duties: HR Administration: Managing the HRIS and processes, ensuring employee documents are in place and up to date, managing visas, assisting the people lead with policy creation and upkeep, managing contractor agreements, and staying current with changes affecting Sedna HR.
Payroll Administration: Running monthly global payroll for the UK, Singapore, Canada, and South Africa.
Working with EORs to ensure remote workers are on boarded and paid correctly, managing variable compensation plans, and administering the employee option pool.
Employee Relations: Working with the people lead to manage, resolve, and escalate employee-related matters as necessary to ensure a positive work environment and compliance with company policies.
Recruitment Assistance: Assisting in the recruitment process, including scheduling interviews and coordinating communication with candidates to ensure a smooth and efficient hiring process.
Office Organisation: Taking responsibility for the smooth operation of our Cape Town office by overseeing day-to-day operations, onboarding and offboarding processes, managing and improving our office space, including managing deliveries and vendors, supervising, and helping to keep our office a great place to work.
Reception and Security: Managing reception duties, serving as the initial point of contact for guests by creating a welcoming and positive experience.
Collaborating with various partners to ensure compliance with security, legal, and health & safety standards.
Employee Support and Engagement: Serving as the primary point of contact for employees' day-to-day needs, including equipment, technical support, and room set-up, while also developing and implementing initiatives to enhance employee engagement, foster a sense of belonging, and promote Sedna's values.
About you: We think you'll need the following experience and qualifications to succeed in this role: Proven experience as an HR Administrator or similar Prior experience with payroll administration Familiarity with HR practices and employment laws in South Africa In addition, here are the core attributes we are looking for: HR Expertise: You bring proven experience as an HR Administrator or in a similar role, with a solid understanding of HR practices, employment laws, and payroll administration.
You handle confidential information with discretion and resolve employee-related matters effectively.

Your excellent organisational skills and keen attention to detail ensure smooth office operations and effective HR and payroll support.
Communication and Collaboration: You have strong interpersonal skills and communicate clearly and professionally.
You facilitate smooth collaboration with team members and department managers locally and with the London office, ensuring effective cross-functional coordination.
Proactive Problem-Solving: You are a self-starter who anticipates challenges and takes initiative to resolve issues before they escalate.
You approach problems with a proactive mindset, finding efficient and effective solutions.
Customer-Centric Approach: You are focused on understanding and meeting the needs of your colleagues and candidates, enhancing their experience through supportive and responsive HR and office management practices.
