To enhance our management team, we are seeking an experienced Deputy General Manager who shares our commitment to excellence
Position Overview:
As the Deputy General Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Hotel and Conference Centre. You will work closely with the General Manager to implement strategic initiatives ensuring efficient management, staff training, and an enduring focus on guest satisfaction
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the General Manager in all aspects of the hotel and conference operations
Lead and motivate the hotel team to deliver high-quality service consistently
Manage departmental budgets and monitor financial performance
Ensure that all health, safety, and quality standards are met
Develop and execute marketing initiatives to drive occupancy and revenue
Foster a positive and productive working environment
Ensure the property is always maintained to a high standard
Handle guest feedback and oversee resolution of issues promptly
Collaborate with various departments to enhance the guest experience
Qualifications:
Must be a South African citizen or have permanent resident status
Minimum 5 years of experience in hotel management, with at least 2 years in a senior supervisory role ideally in a Marriott or Protea Hotel
Strong understanding of hotel operations, including front office, food and beverage, housekeeping and maintenance
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills with a strong personality
Proven track record in managing budgets and driving profitability
Exceptional customer service skills with a passion for hospitality
Must reside within easy travelling distance of Somerset West
