A fast-paced, dynamic Homeware Retail environment, requiring an experienced Homeware Buyer with solid sourcing, product development and negotiating skills.
Excellent commercial awareness and taste level essential.
Contribute towards the achievement of this department and business objectives.ResponsibilitiesRange preparation, coordination and presentation.Range execution in alignment with the business objectives.Presenting range reviews.Product Development.Sourcing of suppliers and new products.Building and maintaining relationships with suppliers.Negotiate and manage supplier contracts.Effectively collaborating with the relevant stakeholders and departments.Overseeing the Product Quality and Suitability.Controlling sample stock.General buying administrative functions.RequirementsQualifications: Relevant tertiary qualification is required.Experience: Minimum of 3 – 5 years of retail merchandise buying experience is essential.Additional: • Experience working in a Homeware retail environment.• Working knowledge of the retail cycle and merchandise buying principles and processes.• A working knowledge of the latest Microsoft packages is required.Position located in Cape Town.
