Medical Aid rate based on principal member only): To be confirmed Advert Closing Date: 10/11/2024 Job Purpose: To support the HIV/AIDS Unit and Campus Health to provide HIV counselling, testing, care and support in health promotion campaigns to clients.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Experience: Grade 12 certificateAccredited Certificate in HIV Counselling & testing.Certificate in Adherence Counselling will be advantageous.Knowledge & skills in conducting proficiency testing including RTQII (Rapid Testing Quality Improvement Initiative) Quality assurance.3 – 5 years' experience in HIV Counselling & Testing Services.Experience working with youth / young adults, sexual & reproductive health, HIV prevention & PrEP will be advantageous.Familiar with the HTS (HIV Testing Services) register data recording.Key Performance Areas / Principal Accountabilities: HIV Counseling & Testing: Provide pre- & post-test counselling.Health Promotion:Support Professional Nurse / enrolled Nurse in Health Promotion Campaigns.Do Health Promotion talks within Campus clinics.Condom distribution on Campus & residences.Health Screening: Stock levels & HIV Testkits stock levels monitoring.Recordkeeping & Administration:Keep record of HIV testing, health talks, educational material & condom distribution.Assist with clinic appointment booking system.Monthly Statistical reporting.Care & Support: Provide ongoing counselling & follow-up of HIV positive clients. Do adherence counselling.Additional Requirements: Must be able to work with students.Applied knowledge of care & support.Basic knowledge of adherence to antiretroviral treatment.Must be able to work with students with diverse backgrounds.Competence in HTS Register data recording.Ability to write & keep accurate records.Statistical data collection. Submit HTS data monthly.Ability to use Microsoft Office packages.Ability to prioritize tasks & work towards deadlines.Good interpersonal, communication & time management skills.Maintain Confidentiality, privacy & discretion always.Closing Date: 10 November 2024
