We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Workshop Manager to lead a team in Johannesburg . The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all workshop operations, including recruitment of staff and training, managing a team of mechanics, and ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of workshop operations, including workshop planning, resource allocation, and workflow management.Manage a team of mechanics, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure optimal performance and productivity.Lead recruitment efforts for new workshop staff, including mechanics and apprentices, and oversee their training and development.Coordinate with the parts department to ensure timely and accurate completion of work orders.Monitor and maintain workshop efficiency and productivity levels, implementing process improvements as needed.Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards, conducting regular safety inspections and training sessions.Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to optimize equipment performance and longevity.Collaborate with senior management to develop strategies for workshop growth and improvement.Requirements:
Previous experience in a similar role as a Workshop Manager or Service Manager, preferably in the heavy-duty truck industry.Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.Technical expertise in heavy-duty truck maintenance and repair processes.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with team members.Proficiency in workshop management software and Microsoft Office applications.Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and adhering to safety protocols.Red Seal qualification or equivalent certification in heavy-duty truck mechanics or a related field is preferred.Location: Johannesburg Roodepoort
