We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Heavy Current Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team.
As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining electrical systems and infrastructure for large-scale industrial projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on heavy current systems, and a passion for innovative problem-solving in high-demand environments.This position is based in Nelspruit/Mbombela.Key Responsibilities:Design & Development: Design electrical systems for heavy current applications, including power distribution, high-voltage systems, and industrial electrical equipment.Project Management: Oversee electrical projects from conception to completion, ensuring adherence to budgets, timelines, and industry standards.System Analysis & Troubleshooting: Analyze existing electrical systems and troubleshoot issues related to performance, efficiency, and safety.Installation & Commissioning: Supervise the installation and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment, ensuring proper functionality and compliance with safety regulations.Safety & Compliance: Ensure that all electrical designs and installations adhere to relevant local, national, and international electrical codes and safety standards.Maintenance & Upgrades: Plan and execute maintenance activities to ensure the continued reliability of electrical systems.
Identify opportunities for system upgrades or improvements.Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, civil, and control engineers, to ensure integrated solutions for large-scale projects.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of designs, modifications, system performance, and safety inspections.Qualifications & Experience:Educational Requirements:Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering (Heavy Current specialization preferred) or a related field.Professional Experience:Minimum 5-8 years of experience working as an Electrical Engineer in heavy current or industrial electrical systems.Experience with electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, ETAP, PowerWorld, or similar) is an advantage.
