Aon South Africa is recruiting a Healthcare Consultant in our Employee Benefits department, based on a hybrid basis from our offices in Durban.
The role of a Healthcare Consultant is to handle, service and retain a portfolio of clients by applying company policies and procedures to deliver varied technical and professional activities. The Healthcare Consultant is the primary point of contact for clients, hence fulfilling a critical role in the life cycle of the client.

What the day will look like Being the primary point of contact for clientsBeing responsible for client retention and growth of portfolio of clientsEnsuring that all service level agreements and appointment letters are signed and currentDeveloping healthcare-related educational programs and conducting trainingEnsuring that all administrative and regulatory matters relating to each client portfolio are up-to-dateProviding relevant reports and information to all internal and external stakeholdersDealing with all queries, ex gratia applications, disputes, and information required by the clientEnsuring compliance with all regulatory requirementsConducting benefit and cost comparisons and reviewing subsidy modellingStaying abreast of industry and legislative changesAssisting junior colleagues where applicableEngaging in business development effortsSkills and experience that will lead to success Qualifications: A recognised matric qualificationAn NQF 5 or equivalent qualification in healthcare/healthcare administrationA relevant bachelor's degree from a reputable tertiary educational institution would be advantageousRegistration as a representative with the FSCA in terms of the FAIS act and CMSAccreditation on 8 medical schemes, 3 Gap cover schemes, and 3 occupational health products is requiredKnowledge: A well-developed knowledge of principles and practices within a technical/professional disciplineThe ability to analyse data from medical schemes and present findings to clientsThe ability to assist senior colleagues in respect of the wellness strategy of clientsA good knowledge of policy wordingsSkills and Attributes: Well-developed analytical skillsThe ability to work in and contribute to teams constructivelyWell-developed spoken and written communication skillsWell-developed influencing and persuading skillsWell-developed interpersonal skillsComputer literacy in Excel and WordExperience: At least 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar or related roleExtensive healthcare experienceA proven record of achievement as a consultantHow we support our colleagues In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce.
