Detail: Our Client is a well-established Construction Company in the Built environment who are seeking to appoint a Health & Safety Officer. The successful applicant will fulfil all the necessary requirements with regards to the Company's Environmental, Health and Safety at designated Projects that are being undertaken by the Company.
Key Responsibilities:
The enforcement of Health and Safety Policies.
Conducting of Audits and Inspections.
Investigation of Accidents / Incidents.
Ensuring HSE compliance in line with the requirements of the OSHACT.
HSE Training of On-Site Staff / HSE Induction Training.
Conducting Toolbox Talks to address specific hazards and risks in relation to the assigned Construction Project.
Review and Approval of Sub-Contractor HSE Files.
Submission of Weekly and Monthly Reports / Statistics to Project Management and Head Office.
Preparation of Risk Assessment and Method Statements for the Company as and when required.
Minimum Requirements:
Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer.
In depth knowledge of legislation (e.g. OSHACT) and procedures.
Knowledge of potentially hazardous materials or practices.
Experience in writing reports and policies for Health and Safety.
Familiarity with conducting data analysis and reporting statistics.
Working knowledge of Safety Management Information Systems.
Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
SACPCMP Registration essential.
At least 3 to 5 years' relevant experience in a similar Built environment.
Valid Driver's License and own transport.
Preferred Competencies:
Sound knowledge of Microsoft 365.
Excellent planning, organising, communication and interpersonal skills.
Good decision making and problem-solving skills.
Diligent with great attention to detail.
A motivated self-starter who takes a proactive and solution driven approach.
Position is available immediately and geographical areas you will be required to work with site inspections include Somerset West, Durbanville and Malmesbury areas in the Western Cape.
