Health & Safety Officer (Packaging)

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Safety Officer for our packaging facility in Gauteng. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in health and safety management, with specific experience in the packaging industry.
Responsibilities Monitor departments for unsafe behavior or regulatory breachesAssess risks and safety hazards throughout Pride Pak PackagingCreate analytical reports on safety dataInspect equipment and processes for safetyOrder repairs for unsafe or damaged equipmentFocus on prevention through equipment maintenance and employee trainingPresent safety principles to staff in meetings or training sessionsParticipate in continuing education to stay updated on health and safety protocolsDevelop safety plans with recommendations for improving infrastructure and processesShare information, suggestions, and observations with project leadership for consistent safety standardsMeet company health and safety goalsInvestigate causes of accidents and unsafe conditionsSystematically address and solve problems as neededImplement corrective and preventative measuresLiaise with law enforcement and investigators during serious accidentsDevelop strategies to prevent future accidentsReview and report on staff compliance with health and safety rules, recommending commendations or dismissals based on performanceQualifications Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety or a related fieldProven experience as a health and safety officer in the packaging industryKnowledge of health and safety regulations and standards in South AfricaStrong attention to detail and analytical skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal abilitiesCertification in First Aid and Fire Safety would be an advantageContact Hire Resolve for your next career-changing move.
