Business Segment: Personal & Private BankingLocation: ZA, GP, Johannesburg, Baker Street 30The Head of Shari'ah Treasury & Finance is a vital role tasked with managing global Shari'ah treasury functions and ensuring effective asset-liability management (ALM) across regions.
The position requires advanced expertise in risk management, financial planning, and Shari'ah-compliant banking operations.Key Responsibilities:Implement risk management strategies for global Shari'ah treasury functions, focusing on mitigating mismatched liabilities, assets, and liquidity risks.Develop and oversee ALM processes to enhance strategic value and operational risk management.Analyze product and geographic performance to maximize value for the Shari'ah business unit and the broader organization.Monitor cash flow and financial metrics, ensuring alignment with Shari'ah principles and objectives.Lead financial planning and prepare financial statements for Shari'ah entities, adhering to accounting standards and Shari'ah guidelines.Provide strategic advice to senior management on Shari'ah-compliant treasury operations and risk practices.Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal policies related to Shari'ah banking and treasury operations.Collaborate to develop and implement innovative Shari'ah-compliant financial products and services.Monitor market trends and economic indicators to support strategic decision-making.Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement within the department.Qualifications:Postgraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related field.Additional certifications in Islamic Finance or Shari'ah-compliant banking are highly advantageous.Experience Required:A seasoned professional with 8-10 years of expertise in Risk Management, Finance, Global Markets, and Corporate Banking, specializing in Islamic banking.
Demonstrated proficiency in managing Consumer and High Net Worth products within Shari'ah-compliant institutions, coupled with advanced treasury and risk management capabilities.Extensive knowledge of global treasury operations, asset-liability management, and Shari'ah-compliant financial practices.Proven ability to develop and execute risk management strategies in Islamic banking.Advanced analytical skills, financial modeling proficiency, and data-driven decision-making expertise.Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder communication skills.Regulatory Expertise:Deep understanding of Shari'ah compliance standards and international banking regulations.Skilled in navigating regulatory environments across diverse jurisdictions.The ideal candidate will possess a combination of technical expertise, strategic vision, and leadership acumen necessary to excel in this critical role within our organization.
