This renowned wine farm is seeking a highly creative and skilled Pastry Chef for their newly renovated Hotel. Join their dynamic culinary team, specialising in Pastry. This is a unique opportunity for a creative individual with 4 or 5* experience and strong organisational skills to contribute to the success of this hotel in the heart of the Winelands.
Responsibilities:
Pastry Production:
Oversee the production of pastries, desserts, and baked goods for conferences and the deli.
Implement creative and innovative techniques to elevate the pastry offerings.
4/5* Expertise:
Contribute to the development and execution of dessert menus.
Ensure that all pastries meet the high standards of quality and presentation expected in fine establishments.
High Volume Production:
Manage high-volume pastry production efficiently, meeting the demands of both A la Carte & meetings.
Coordinate with the culinary team to plan and execute pastry production schedules.
Menu Development:
Collaborate with the executive chef and culinary team to create and refine pastry menus.
Introduce new and seasonal pastry items to enhance the overall culinary experience.
Quality Control:
Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients, finished products, and presentation.
Monitor production processes to ensure consistency and adherence to quality standards.
Training and Leadership:
Train and mentor junior pastry staff to enhance their skills and creativity.
Lead by example in maintaining a positive and collaborative kitchen environment.
Organisational Skills:
Maintain a well-organised and clean pastry kitchen.
Efficiently manage inventory, ensuring proper stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Pastry Chef with a focus on 4/5* production.
Strong creative abilities with a passion for innovation in pastry arts.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Culinary degree or relevant certifications.
Working Hours:
The Pastry Chef position may involve flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the demands of the hotel.
