A co-educational day school situated in the beautiful town of Knysna, on the Garden Route, is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dynamic Head of Water Polo to lead and develop the water polo programme across both the College and Prep. Oakhill School is looking for an individual who not only has a deep understanding and love for water polo but also possesses the ability to lead, innovate, and grow the programme to new heights.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage the water polo programme for both College and Prep students, ensuring high levels of participation and competitive success.Promote and represent the water polo programme within the school community and externally.Teach and mentor students, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.Coach 1st team Boys or Girls 1st team in the College.Organise and oversee training sessions, matches, and tournaments, including weekend and holiday commitments as needed.Collaborate and upskill current water polo staff to enhance the overall water polo level at Oakhill.Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.Candidate Requirements: A proven track record in coaching water polo, with experience across various age groups.Relevant water polo qualifications and significant experience.SACE (South African Council for Educators) accreditation.Teaching is an advantage.Able to coach winter sport is to the candidates advantage.Strong leadership, organizational, and administrative skills.Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.A passion for sports and education, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.Willingness to adapt and manage change within the sporting curriculum.The closing date for applications is Wednesday, 11 September 2024.
