The Head of Tax will be accountable for formulating and executing Adcorp's Tax Strategy, ensuring compliance with all tax-related areas within the group, and providing tax support for any corporate initiatives undertaken by the group.
This role also involves driving continuous improvement in all aspects of the Tax operating model and leading and managing the Tax team.
Relevant qualification.
i.e.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or Law.Professional certifications in finance, taxation or related fields – would be advantageousMinimum 8 years' post qualification experience in the field of taxation including tax accounting.Experience working in direct tax, international tax, and VATTax Department Management Accountable for the development of the Adcorp tax strategy and implementation plan.Accountable for consolidating and optimising the Adcorp group's overall tax position.Responsible for the identification of system or control deficiencies and will oversee the execution of modifications to these systems or controls, with the aim of enhancing their effectiveness.Manage and implement tax related projects and identify future tax projects.Use best practice organisational models, processes and global/local procedures within taxation to ensure best in class performance by monitoring implementation and output.Support Finance with month end closing processes.Ensure adherence to internal controls and legal requirements in collaboration with corporate and local Finance and compliance teams.Coordinate with internal and external departments to address process-related issues.Serve as the escalation point within the process.Participation in projects.Manage tax risks and provide relevant guidance and expert advice for tax related matters.Ensure optimal and timely tax planning and input at the outset of each major strategic project.Responsible for efficient tax planning and adherence to compliance regulations during the structuring of transactions.Accountable for tax planning at the commencement of the fiscal year.
This involves the identification of opportunities for tax optimisation and the formulation of policies in areas that necessitate proactive planning.Accountable for providing tax advisory on all significant transactions and monitoring changes in tax laws and their impact on the organisation.Liaise with external consultants and tax authorities for all tax related audits and assessments.
Ensuring timely response to notices from the authorities and manage tax litigations with support from tax consultants, group finance and other departments.Responsible for ensuring transparency across the group regarding emerging trends in taxation.Responsible for forecasting potential future obstacles and ensuring appropriate tax planning measures are in place.Responsible for directing and overseeing the seamless and efficient operations of the tax department, ensuring the department's productivity and effectiveness in performing its duties.Ability to manage the tax accounting and tax computation function including preparation and submission of tax returns, VAT returns and PAYE.Stakeholder Management Collaboration with Payroll, Finance and Divisional Operations to ensure Tax compliance.Responsible for overseeing and maintaining relationships with tax authorities and tax partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with key stakeholders in the field of taxation.Manage Revenue Authorities and third party (internal/external) engagement in relation to all aspects of tax including inter alia VAT, CIT, TP Customs and Excise.Leadership and Team Management Lead and manage the tax team, providing guidance, training, and support.
