With a strategic mindset, you quickly gather market insights on our core industries (Ag & Food), target clients (SMEs), and competition.
You set and carry out clear strategies to reach our targets and build an exceptional sales team.
What you'll do Working closely with Fazlur, our co-founder leading Sales & Marketing, you will: Develop and execute sales strategies: Rapidly gather market insights across the Ag and Food industries and, crucially, understand how customers make buying decisions.
Thrive on building and executing sales strategies.
Build a top-tier sales organisation: Hire, train, lead and inspire the sales team, providing guidance, support, and training to maximise individual and collective performance.
Analyse the market: Identify market trends, research competitor activities, and gather customer feedback to inform sales approaches and input into our financial product and tech development roadmaps.
Own the Sales 'P&L': Present sales, revenue and expenses reports and realistic forecasts to the leadership team.
What we're looking for At least 5 years of successful experience in sales, consistently exceeding targets, with at least 2+ years experience heading up sales teams.
Energy in bucket loads.
Proven capability to lead and deliver fast and significant multi-million ZAR growth.
Experience recruiting, growing and coaching teams to deliver top level sales performance.
Industry expertise, particularly in selling financial products directly to SMEs, and willingness to rapidly build an understanding of the fundamentals of the Ag and Food industries.
Someone who gets hands on and is excited to get involved closing big deals and building strategic partnerships.
Excellent communication skills in English plus one other South African language.
BSc/MSc degree in Business Administration or a related field.
Based in Johannesburg (preferably) or Cape Town.
Ability to travel 50%+ of the time.
Familiarity with the Agricultural and Food industries.
Prior startup or FinTech experience.
