Key Responsibilities: Lead the pricing strategy for existing and new lines of business. Manage and mentor a team of approximately 10 pricing professionals. Analyze portfolio performance and guide pricing decisions to achieve business objectives. Develop and implement pricing best practices, tools, and systems. Collaborate with internal teams, including Underwriting, Claims, Finance, and Sales to optimize pricing strategies. Support senior management with actuarial advice and business insights. Oversee the flow and quality of data to ensure accurate pricing models. Monitor profitability, renewals, and pricing targets, adjusting strategies as needed. Participate in Mergers & Acquisitions analyses and special projects. Play a key role in driving pricing initiatives and data analytics within the organization. Qualifications & Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in short-term insurance pricing, including modelling and deployment. Strong background in providing actuarial advice to senior management. Proven experience in underwriting, portfolio management, and general management. Previous exposure to large IT development projects and project management. A University degree in Actuarial Science or a related field (NQF Level 7). FASSA or an international equivalent qualification is preferred. Skills & Competencies: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams and influence cross-functional teams. Ability to meet deadlines and manage pressure effectively. In-depth knowledge of statistical and actuarial pricing tools and methods. Advanced computer literacy (SAS, VBA, Pricing Software, etc.). Expertise in portfolio management, optimisation methods, and underwriting strategies. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to varied audiences.
