A prominent investment management firm, specialising in listed property, is seeking a Head of Operations to join their dynamic team in Johannesburg.
As a member of the leadership team at this specialist, progressive and fast-growing company, the primary objective of this position will be to strategically manage the operations, finance and governance functions of the business.
The Head of Operations is set to play a crucial role in providing strategic input into the day-to-day and long-term growth plan of the business, deliver on strategic projects and represent the company on industry body forums and committees.
The successful candidate will be responsible for formulating and managing the operational strategy, overseeing the finance function, managing compliance and governance and leading various teams. A Finance role with an operational and strategic flair to it.
Key qualifications and experience required for the Head of Operations: Fully qualified CA (SA) or similar5 years+ post-qualified experience, within the Financial Services sectorA background in Asset Management or Fund Administration is highly preferredProven experience working with operations management, compliance and governanceExcellent leadership skills with experience leading diverse teams Key duties of the Head of Operations: Support executive directors in crafting strategic initiativesProvide strategic input into the business's growth planFormulate and manage the operational strategyManage the finance function including oversight of financial reportingEnsure compliance with tax legislationTake responsibility for client service and distribution functionManage compliance and governance through robust risk frameworkOversee internal corporate governance and company secretarial duties Key personal skills: Proactive, taking initiative to identify and address challenges before they become problemsMotivated by a strong desire to achieve successful results and make a differenceStrong ability to work collaboratively and working effectively with othersAble to think strategically and develop a plan of action that aligns with the organisation'sEffective communicator, able to convey ideas and information clearly and convincingly to an audienceStrong people management and leadershipIf you are a dynamic, ambitious and results-driven finance professional looking for a big opportunity and the chance to make this role your own, we encourage you to get in touch for a discussion about this position.
