MinimumRequirements:
Matric (Grade 12)Degree: LLB/LLMMBA will be advantageousAdmitted Attorney/Advocate 10-15 years of work experience in the same or similar role 10 years of experience in managing legal teams in a listed company environmentSubstantial experience in corporate commercial & M&A mattersKnowledge of applicable legislation including corporate law, competition law, contract law, dispute resolution, environmental law, mining law, labor law, etc.Solid regulatory compliance experience in multinational companies Proven track record in establishing formal legal policies, procedures, and internal controls Strong legal risk management background Demonstrable legal project management experienceLeadership and management of lawyers and non-lawyers
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the effective management of diverse legal teams across various jurisdictionsSetting legal strategy and direction alignment to organizational imperatives Accountable for the operational management of the full suite of legal services across the Company Group.Strengthen collaboration with external legal advisors, local and cross-borderMaintain relationships with all internal stakeholdersResponsible for reporting and implementation of Legal standardsReporting of legal and ethical breaches Conduct research and develop legal frameworks, and analyze local and international trends that could impact the business.Conduct assessment on labor legislation compliance, locally and cross-borderConduct business improvement initiatives on ethics and corporate governanceBuild a strong and cohesive team by recruiting top talent and creating an inclusive work environmentPromote a culture that supports high performance through performance management and employee engagementMentoring, coaching, and developing the Legal team
