Seeking an experienced IT leader to oversee the planning, organization, and management of IT operations in SSA, ensuring stable IT operations and delivering high-quality IT support services.
The Head of IT will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing key functional areas, including deskside, network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, and telecommunications systems. They will also schedule and direct activities to resolve hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a team to deliver high-quality IT support services
Support the Global Service Desk in delivering services globally
Proficient in the use of Service Now
Design and implement short- and long-term strategic plans to ensure infrastructure capacity meets existing and future requirements
Conduct feasibility studies for various upgrade projects, improvements, and other conversions
Understand the importance of Global Standards and ensuring solutions fit within these
Accountable for justification and in some cases business case creation of any spend
Prepare RFPs, bid proposals, contracts, scope of work reports, and other documentation for infrastructure projects and associated efforts
Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for infrastructure administration and project management
Participate in the development of IT strategies in collaboration with the executive team
Test network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports; develop strategies for maintaining network infrastructure
Negotiate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure infrastructure-specific products and services
Assist with the planning and deployment of global security measures
Work within Global SLAs under GSD
Direct and administrate a contingent of network analysts and technicians, and where necessary, conduct performance reviews and corrective action
Run regional projects as required
Align with country business line leaders and country managers for service reviews and prioritization of business requirements
Requirements:
Personable, able to work with individuals at all levels
University degree or college diploma in the field of computer science and/or 7 years equivalent work experience
Certifications in MCSE, CCIE advantageous
5 years experience managing and delivering infrastructure design and operational excellence
5 years service delivery management and/or partnering experience
Exceptional knowledge of service and application delivery, as well as successful service level agreement accomplishments
5 years successful leadership of an infrastructure team
Hands-on experience in troubleshooting hardware
Knowledge of current protocols and standards
Ability to make sound and logical judgments
Demonstrated leadership and personnel/project management skills
Good understanding of the organization's goals and objectives
Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Able to conduct research into issues and products as required
Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations
Ability to present ideas in a user-friendly language
Highly self-motivated and directed
