A leading FMCG exporter is seeking an experienced and driven Head of Human Resources to take their HR Division to the next level, lead their human resources initiatives and contribute to the success of the organisation. This role offers the opportunity to continue to drive positive changes in employee relations, performance management, and more. The ideal candidate will be responsible for enhancing employee performance. They must have a strong background in HR management, a deep understanding of employment laws and regulations, and excellent interpersonal skills. This position will be based in the company's Durban office.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES, NOT LIMITED TO:Management of the company's HR team (currently HR Officer, Payroll Administrator and HR administrator)Company Culture: Take a critical look at the company culture and work with senior management to suggest and implement changes to consistently improve how the employees feel about working at the companyEmployee Relations: Create positive employee relations by addressing employee inquiries, concerns, and conflictsProvide guidance and support to employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related mattersConduct investigations and take appropriate actions to resolve employee issuesHR Policy and Development: Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies, procedures and programmesHave a detailed look at the existing policies and procedures to see if anything can be developed furtherPerformance Management: Support the performance management process by coordinating performance appraisals, goal setting, and feedback sessionsAssist in the development and implementation of performance improvement plans and employee development programmesTraining and Development: Communicate to the Executive team what opportunities they must take to maximise SEETA benefitsDevelop a strategy/policy and work with HR Officer to implementCompliance: Stay up to date on current Labour Law and ensure that the company stays compliant with all the various lawsIdentify gaps and close themCompensation and Benefits: employee compensation and benefits programs, including salary reviews, incentives, and employee benefits enrolmentManage the payroll administrator to ensure accurate payroll processingHR Reporting: Prepare HR reports and analytics on key HR metrics, such as employee turnover, recruitment, training, and performanceProvide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support informed decision-makingIR: Ensure that any disputes between the employees and the employer are dealt with swiftly and represent the company at CCMA hearingsVisas: Ensure that all Expat staff have the correct visas and assist them in getting the correct documentation to apply for the correct visaDevelop a system to monitor the status of each expat employee to ensure timeous applications for new visasEmployment Equity and B-BBEE: Ensure the company is compliant with the EE Act and develop a strategy to present to the executive to become B-BBEE compliantReview and Develop HR intranet areas. Including internal advertising for open positions at the company and Newsfeed protocolREQUIREMENTSBachelor's or master's degree in human resources management, organizational behaviour or development, organizational psychology, or a similar fieldProven experience as an HR Manager or similar role, with a track record of successful HR management. (5-8 years)In-depth knowledge of South African labour laws, regulations, and HR best practicesStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport at all levels of the organizationExcellent problem-solving and decision-making abilitiesExceptional organisational skills and attention to detailGood knowledge of labour legislation (particularly employment contracts, employee leaves and insurance)Have an empathetic and caring nature with excellent people skillsConflict ManagementJob Type: Full-timePay: Up to R60000,00 per month
